Within the framework of the project to implement a functional analysis (FA) of three Centers for Social Work (CSW) in Skopje, Shtip and Tetovo, with a wider group of representatives from the social administration (both central and local), we started implementing the regulatory impact assesment (RIA) in the field of social protection.

The first workshop within the framework of this process was held from October 17 to 18 in Mavrovo, where an initial problem analysis was made of the situations related to the work of the CSW, in terms of their scope of work, the legal and factual position of their staff, the position of the management of the case and the case manager and their importance in the process of delivery of social services. The subject of analysis was primarily the Law on Social Protection, together with accompanying by-laws, in the sections that are subject to the RIA process.

This workshop was attended by directors, heads of departments and other employees within the CSW from several cities, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy who work directly on this issue.

The workshop ended with a problem analysis and several proposed solutions that will be analyzed and debated in more detail at the next workshop on RIA in the field of social protection.
